What's safer when it comes to airline travel - traveling with a disposable vape such as our new Ello collection; or with a device, tank, and your favorite BLVK flavor available as an open e-liquid?  How do the rules change when international travel is involved?  In honor of our new tobacco-free nicotine collections, we want to show you how to fly with your vape in style.

Can you fly with disposables and open e-liquids?  Let's dive into our full guide on traveling with BLVK!

SO, CAN YOU TAKE A VAPE ON A PLANE?

Let's get to the biggest reason why you're here.  Can you take your vape pen on a plane?  Well, yes and no.

The TSA and FAA specifically prohibit electronic cigarettes and vaping devices in checked bags.  You are, however, absolutely free to take them with you on your carry-on bag.  Electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) such as atomizers, vaporizers, vape pens, and battery-powered e-cigarettes should only be carried in the aircraft cabin.  That means you can carry them either on your person or in your carry-on barrage.

The big reason for this are that vapes are typically powered by lithium-ion batteries.  Given the altitude and relative drop in pressure everywhere on a plane except the cabin, the safest way to travel with your vapes is to simply have them on you.

TRAVELING INTERNATIONALLY WITH BLVK

Headed to an unfamiliar country?  Not sure of the vape rules and regulations at your new destination?  It's wise to check up on the local vaping laws before you depart.  Some countries may even have outright bans on vaping products.

You don't want to get caught in a country with something that's strictly prohibited.  Flying with a vape pen would be the worst of your worries after you arrive.  Keep yourself safe and lawful by making sure your destination is okay with vapes and e-liquids!

And if you forget, no worries, upon passing through airport security, the worst that'll happen is that the security forces will ask you to dispose of your setup.  While that might be heartbreaking, at least upon arriving you can head to a shop that sells e-cigs and ask if they sell BLVK.  Chances are, given our worldwide distribution network, finding our products in whatever country you're going to isn't as difficult as it sounds.

4 TIPS FOR FLYING WITH VAPES

When it comes to airline travel with vape devices and accessories, you need to be prepared for the worst.  If you've prepared your gear correctly, chances are you'll avoid these four issues.  However, if you are unsure about how to safely, legally, and effectively travel with your vaping setup, the next four points are for you.

1. TANKS CAN LEAK

Tanks, whether they're refillable atomizers, pre-filled pods, or even closed system disposables all have the potential to leak everywhere.  Not only does this cause a mess in your carry-on luggage, but it can also spell disaster for everyone else on the plane, including but not limited to the authorities.  Since it is expressly illegal to consume your vape on the plane, causing any additional eyes on you whether you're actively using your vape or not is a no-no.  Consider boarding your flight with on an empty tank.

2. DISPOSABLES ARE RECOMMENDED

We know that last week we broke down the pro's and con's between our Ello Disposable collection and the rest of the open e-liquids readily available on our site.  To add a point towards to the disposable preferences, having simpler devices are easier to travel with.

Bubbamelon Ice from the Ello Disposables collection, for example, is our watermelon bubblegum with a hint of menthol blend.  And all of it is contained in a 7ML reservoir and powered by a coil and battery.  This all-in-one setup effectively eliminates the need for a device, battery, battery charger, tank, extra coils, and a bottle of e-liquid.

Remember, when you are traveling on a plane, you are restricted by both how much liquid you can bring onto the plane and how much your bags weigh.  Eliminate the clutter and, if you would consider to, opt for something that still delivers you a pleasurable vaping experience while also abiding by the rules and regulations as set by your airline.  You'll thank us later!

3. STOCK UP ON EXTRA DISPOSABLES

Speaking on the topic of opting for a disposable over open e-liquid and a full vaping setup, if you happen to be traveling to a country where you are unsure about whether you can find BLVK products to shop at, remember to stock up!  Ello disposables are an attractive option not only for the ultimate convenience, but also provide the most bang for your buck!

4. STOCK UP ON EXTRA BATTERIES

Maybe disposables aren't your thing - and that's okay!  If you fall into the category that most of us fall into, you just can't part with your setup that you've been rocking all along.  If you find yourself in the air traveling to the next adventure, be sure you have the means to enjoy all your favorite e-liquids!  In this case, stocking up on extra batteries can definitely go a long way; especially if you're constantly on the move and incapable or unwilling to take a pause during vacation just to charge up your setup.

TRAVELING WITH BLVK

Since we've talked about flying with vape devices, we want to be specific about e-liquid in general.  Whether you're on BLVK N' Yellow or BLVK Fusion from our TFN collections, there are very specific security rules regarding it as a liquid to travel with you on an airplane.

For starters, your e-liquid bottle must be smaller than 100ml.  Per the TSA, you are "allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and paste in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint."  Luckily, all of our BLVK products, both freebase and salt nicotine are sold in 30ML and 60ML bottles respectively.

You can also speed up the screening process of your carry-on luggage by doing this next tip.  Take a small,  clear bag to place your bottle of liquids in.  Pack only containers that are no larger than 3.4 ounces (or 100ml).  Additional screening is required if there are any liquids, gels, aerosols, creams, or pastes that may trigger alarms during the screening process.

To make it as easy as possible, we recommend just bringing a 30ML (1 ounce) bottles along.  Unless it's an extended trip, we doubt that you'll need more than that for the journey.

CAN YOU VAPE ON A PLANE?

We've answered on if you can take your vape on a plane, can you actively vape on a plane?  The short answer is a resounding no.  No airline in the world allows vaping on a flight.  There are significant legal repercussions involved if you're caught attempting to vape on a plane, even if you decide to try it in the cabin bathrooms.

CAN YOU VAPE AT THE AIRPORT?

Again, the answer is still a resounding no.  It's not likely that any airport will allow you to vape within the terminal.  There may, however, be smoking areas designated outside.  In this case, you may be able to vape to your heart's content with ease in those areas.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

In the end, the final decision rests with the TSA officer on duty.  They can determine whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint or not.  In most cases, you'll likely have a breezy time.  Most TSA officers aren't there to give you a hard time.  In fact, their goal is to make sure people are safe.  They're looking for bombs and weapons; and not out to get your bottle of Mango Passion Ice.  Still, it's always good to make sure you're doing everything above-board.  It's also good to know you can travel with your favorite BLVK products.  Be sure to give the tobacco-free nicotine collections a try today.  You never know if this is your next step in achieving a smoke-free lifestyle!
