Today we wanted to talk a little about a less common issue within the body’s breathers – popcorn lung.
If you haven’t heard of popcorn lung, let us fill you in really quick. Medically named obliterative bronchiolitis or “popcorn lung,” this respiratory disease has a history of affecting a group of popcorn factory workers back in 2000. After the affected parties reported the same bodily issues and a little digging was done, it was found that their lungs were being damaged by the main ingredient used for butter popcorn flavor. During their time working at the popcorn factory, they were exposed to the residual chemical known as Diacetyl and inhaling it through their workday. The overexposure of Diacetyl triggered the popcorn lung.
The symptoms of obliterative bronchiolitis include rapid breathing, exhaustion, shortness of breath, wheezing, dry cough, and more. You may be asking yourself what popcorn has to do with BLVK Unicorns premium e-liquid. After the initial study surrounding popcorn lung, there was a study done that determined Diacetyl was present in some electronic cigarettes. While Diacetyl is present in a much larger quantity in traditional cigarettes, users were not showing signs of popcorn lung.
